What is in the Raw Dog Food Starter Pack?
- Chicken and Vegetable
- Duck and Vegetable (It’s best to choose this option if your dog has an intolerance to Chicken)
- Boneless Beef and Vegetable
Which size pack should I order?
That really depends on the size of your dog, we recommend opting for the 500g/5kg box for dogs under 20kg, and for dogs over 20kg it to choose the 1kg/10kg box.
What do I feed first?
Start with the options that contain bone so for the first 4 days feed Chicken and Vegetable or Duck and Vegetable (depending on which box you choose) , then feed 2 days of Boneless Beef and Vegetable. From there you can alter each day. When you have completed the starter pack you can choose from our other Mixed Boxes with various protein options.
Transitioning to Raw:
There is no strict exact way to switch to raw, just like humans, every dog is different. We have helped many pet owners change their dog’s diet to raw food and here is what we have learned over the years.
Sensitive Dogs – If your dog has recurring stomach upset then we recommend transitioning slowly. The best way to do this is to slowly introduce raw food into their diet each day, as you increase the raw quantity, decrease the dry quantity.
No issue Dogs – If you have not seen any issues with your dog’s digestive tract, they have stomachs of steel then you can fire ahead and do a straight switch if you like. 95% of our clients have done a straight switch with no issues.

Switching from dry to raw can be very similar to switching from different brands of dry food. The raw dog food diet is not scary, it is fantastic!

Seems good – I’m not unhappy with the food, but I don’t see the need for vegetables in the mix – dogs get all the nutrients they need from the meat and roughage from the ground bone.
I don’t like the packaging as there’s a lot of paper, and plastic lining, involved (while the supplier I have decided to go with uses plastic, but far less material. Juices soak into the packaging while in the fridge and meat sticks to it – this means it must be scrubbed before putting in the kitchen recycling bin, and even then it smells badly meaning I must empty the bin more.
Also, I’m not that happy buying raw food from an intermediary – adding in a seller between the food producer and the customer doesn’t necessarily give me confidence in the freshness of the food. The supplier I will go with is also the food producer.
Delivery was prompt but I still don’t understand why you charge customers extra for the thermal liner – I’ve never paid any retailer for delivery packaging as a separate item.

Good value. Very easy to use (much cheaper and better than making it myself, and more complete than I was achieving).
Regarding a raw food diet:
I started my Frenchie on raw food over 3 years ago. She was obviously very ill and refusing to eat her regular dog food. About the same time, she was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and the same week she was viscously mauled by a neighbour’s dog. With raw food, medication for Cushing’s, and care for injuries, she was regaining her fit look and recovering well from injuries. In fact, she’s FAR exceeded what her vets expected!!
Over 3 years later, still on raw food, she’s healthy (albeit aging at 12.5 years old), she has a shiny coat, loves her food, is fit and still loves to run and play soccer. A friend’s dog healed from cancer and multiple health problems with no help besides switching to a raw food diet (now 15 years old).
I’m a believer that raw foods are best for my dogs. And having switched to this brand, I’m finding it easy and relatively affordable for the high quality.

Our dogs are really enjoying their semi-raw diet. It is great to have an Irish, well-balanced and transparently sourced raw food option. Food arrived well-packaged and still frozen. Unfortunate that the cooling outer packaging is plastic based and the box is coated too, so it cannot be composted. There are far more eco-friendly cold-packaging options, especially considering the 4.99 extra charge for each delivery.
